Banc Statements, Inc. doubles the size of its production facility in Indianapolis

Birmingham, AL, August 1, 2019 ( – BSI, which provides outsourced printing and electronic document delivery services for community banks, is excited to announce that it is doubling the size of its production facility in Indianapolis. The expansion is complete and the additional space will house new production equipment, as well as provide expanded warehouse space.

“In support of our growth strategy and commitment to having a regional reach with a local touch, we continue to invest in new capacity and equipment to support our clients”, Lee Long, BSI’s Chief Operating Officer noted, “Since opening our Indianapolis facility in 2015, our customer base in the region has grown significantly. Banc Statements, Inc. names Chris Leirer as Vice President, Business Development

Chris will be responsible for selling strategic accounts and creating business alliances in the northern half of the United States. Previously, Chris was the Vice President Sales, Midwest Region. He has been with BSI for 4 years.

Banc Statements, Inc. names Kathy Taylor as Senior Vice President, Business Development

Birmingham, AL, August 1, 2019 ( – BSI is pleased to announce that Kathy Taylor has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Business Development. Kathy will be responsible for selling strategic accounts and creating business alliances in the southern half of the United States. Previously, Kathy was the Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Alliances. She has been with BSI for 5 years and has a combined history of more than 25 years leading marketing organizations and providing strategic consulting to clients.

Going Above and Beyond Earns Patriot Award for BSI CEO

The Patriot Award honors supervisors and bosses who supports the National Guard or Reserves by acknowledging that employees may need flexible schedules, time off before or after deployment, or leaves of absence. ESGR, short for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, was established in 1972 by the Department of Defense to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve service members and their civilian employers. This year, Bob Fairweather, President/CEO of BSI was awarded with the ESGR Extraordinary Employer Support Award for his sustained commitment to the Guard and Reserve.

Paper Bank Statements May Surpass Digital for Some Customers

DESPITE a push by financial institutions to switch customers to digital statements from paper, the traditional hard-copy version may work better for some people, a new report finds.

In particular, older, less educated and lower-income consumers who may lack fast Internet connections at home may benefit from paper statements, the new report from the National Consumer Law Center says.

There’s a sense that everyone’s connected, and paper is old-fashioned,” said Chi Chi Wu, a lawyer at the center and the primary author of the report. But, she said, significant gaps in Internet access may hinder the ability of some consumers to use digital statements.

BSI’s Chief Operations Officer Speaks at Jack Henry & Associates Silverlake User Group

In July, Lee Long, BSI’s COO spoke on “Top 10 Reasons to Outsource Statement Printing/Mailing” to attendees at the JHA Silverlake Southwest User Group Conference in Dallas, TX. There were 150 to 200 banks from the around the southwest in attendance for Jack Henry’s annual event. BSI had a great response, with representatives from one bank stating, “BSI is our new favorite vendor because of Lee Long’s presentation!”

Birmingham Named Among 10 Best Cities for Banking in 2014

According to a new report by NerdWallet, Birmingham was named among the top 10 cities for consumer banking in 2014. The consumer finance site compiled data on six different factors to determine which of the 100 most populated cities in the U.S. are the best for basic consumer banking. Those factors include: stability of local banks and credit unions, diverse banking options, local branch accessibility, average savings account interest, fees charged and proportion of the population that's fully banked.

The Magic City was named the seventh top city for banking because of it's wide range of banking options and number of financial institutions offering consumer-friendly terms.

Why I Still Get Paper Statements

NBC recently acknowledged that it's flagship website (and other associated sites) had been hacked and remained unpatched for an undisclosed amount of time--probably a few hours. That is, for some unknown period of time, visitors to, who had outdated software installed on their computers, were directed and served malware that has the capability of stealing financial information. It gets worse, folks! If you were a victim, you may not know about it. The malware is smart enough to display your bank account website with the dollar amount they stole added back to your balance (as if it was never taken) while still including your recent transactions.

Steel Strides 5K


Banc Statements, Inc. participated in the Steel Strides 5k for MDA that took place in the town of Mt. Laurel on April 26, 2014. The entire company came out to support David Yates, VP of Sales for BSI, and his wife Abby. David and Abby’s daughter, Hadley Rose, was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type I on January 24th, 2013 and she passed away on April 13th, 2013. Hadley was 4 and a half months old. Hadley was, and continues to be, a huge inspiration to all who knew her.

BSI had over 50 employees, family and friends that came out to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Spinal Muscular Atrophy and the entire Yates family.

Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is the number one genetic killer of children under the age of two. SMA is a motor neuron disease. The motor neurons affect the voluntary muscles that are used for activities such as crawling, walking, head and neck control, and swallowing. It is a relatively common "rare disorder": approximately 1 in 6000 babies born are affected, and about 1 in 40 people are genetic carriers.
